Benny’s chose a 100 year old building with an elevated street entrance to call home. The entry design is lavish and full of focal features to dazzle guests as they approach the stairs to the host. The space had been partially renovated for an upscale restaurant. Therefore, Ingrassia Design worked the travertine bar, centrally located wine room, and the exposed ceiling into the design scheme to keep costs down. With owners looking for a modern take on a traditional steakhouse; we reinterpreted the classic steak house finishes and fixtures. An eclectic collection of contemporary lighting replaces classic chandeliers, radiused wood side chairs with rich plum upholstery replaces heavy leather club chairs, abstract paintings on canvas by Chicago’s own Matt Lamb were hung in lieu of gilded framed still lives.
